working therapeutically with a full range of issues including childhood
sexual abuse and domestic violence.
There
is no charge for this service.
Counselling can help people understand the underlying causes of a wide range of difficulties. These difficulties might sometimes be linked to a particular experience, for example a traumatic event from childhood, or the recent break up of a relationship. Other reasons for seeking counselling may seem more difficult to define, for example understanding the origins of depression or low self-esteem. Within counselling you can begin to look at old patterns of behaviour that can affect current relationships and find positive ways to change these overused patterns.
We welcome self-referrals or referrals from NHS or other statutory and non-statutory agencies. If you are interested in counselling please contact us in confidence for an application form (Tel 020 7249 7318 or email info@liwc.co.uk)
All sessions are held in our safe
women's only centre.
We are pleased to be able to offer this service through working in partnership with the Irish organisation icap (immigrant counselling and psychotherapy http://www.icap.org.uk)
Unfortunately
we are not able to offer work placements to counselling students.
